FAQ

WATCH Q AND A

Everything you need to know before and after receiving your watch.

This page combines our existing support guidance with additional watch-care instructions so you can order, set up, and use your watch more safely and with more confidence.

Very Important

Water resistance and waterproofing

Even if a watch is described as water-resistant, the safest rule is to keep it away from water whenever possible. Always make sure the crown is fully closed and screwed down securely before wearing the watch.

We inspect each watch before packing and shipping, but we strongly recommend that customers do not wear watches while swimming, showering, or in humid environments. Moisture, steam, dust, salt water, chlorine, and other chemicals can damage the movement and seals.

Water damage is not covered. Unless the product description specifically states otherwise, treat the watch as suitable for light splashes only. Never submerge chronograph models, and never operate crowns, pushers, buttons, or bezels while the watch is wet or underwater.

Light moisture only

If no tested depth is clearly listed, assume the watch can handle only minor splashes such as hand washing, and avoid all immersion.

ATM and bar ratings

Water resistance is measured in atmospheres or bar under lab conditions. These ratings do not mean a replica dive watch should be used like a genuine dive watch.

Chronograph warning

Chronograph pushers are especially vulnerable to moisture entry. Do not press them in rain, underwater, or when the watch is wet.

01

Getting started

First-use guidance, movement basics, and everyday wear advice.

What is the first thing to do when I receive the watch?

For automatic watches, wind the crown clockwise about 15 to 20 full turns to restore power reserve after shipping. If the crown is screw-down, first loosen it by turning anti-clockwise until it releases, then wind it gently.

Once the watch starts running, push the crown back toward the case while turning clockwise so it closes securely. Battery-powered quartz models do not need manual winding.

My automatic watch stops. Why?

Automatic watches run on stored energy created by wrist movement. If the watch is not worn or moved for a while, it may stop once the power reserve is exhausted. Wind the crown clockwise about 10 to 12 turns to restart it.

If your watch is quartz and it stops, the battery likely needs replacement.

What is the difference between automatic and quartz movement?

An automatic movement uses kinetic energy and does not need a battery. A quartz movement is battery-powered. Most high-end authentic watches use automatic movements, while quartz models are usually lower maintenance day to day.

How long will a watch last?

That depends on care and maintenance. With sensible use, regular servicing, and protection from moisture or shocks, a watch can last for many years.

Do your watches come with boxes, and what if I cannot find the model I want?

Watches do not include boxes by default, though boxes may be available separately. If you cannot find a model on the site, contact us with a product link and we can check availability for you.

02

Time, date, and GMT settings

How to safely operate the crown and avoid common setting mistakes.

How do I safely set the time?

If your watch has a screw-in crown, unscrew it anti-clockwise first. Pull the crown out gently until it clicks into the time-setting position, then move the hands forward until the correct time is displayed.

After setting the time, push the crown back in and tighten it clockwise until it is secure. Always check that the crown is properly closed to reduce the risk of dust or moisture entering the movement.

How do I change the date and time?

With a screw-in crown, first loosen it. The first click is usually used for date adjustment, while the next click is used for time adjustment. Set the date in the quick-set position, then set the time, and finally close the crown carefully.

Never force the crown or stem, and always use gentle pressure when pulling or pushing it.

How do I set GMT and local time?

After unscrewing the crown, the first click generally adjusts the GMT hand and date, while the second click adjusts local time. Set local time first, then fine-tune the GMT hand for the second time zone.

The GMT hand moves in sync with local time, so once local time is correct, use the GMT setting to offset the second zone you want to track.

What is a screw-in crown, and how is it different?

A screw-in crown locks onto threads in the case to help seal and protect the movement. Many Rolex-style watches use this system. You must unscrew it before winding or setting, then close it again gently until tight.

Non screw-in crowns do not require this opening and closing step.

Functions and watch features

Chronograph use, recessed pushers, battery life, and specialist watch functions.

When do I need to change the battery on a quartz watch?

A fresh quartz battery normally lasts around two years, depending on the model and when the last replacement was made.

What is a recessed pusher, and how should I use it?

Recessed pushers sit inside the watch case for a cleaner look and are often used to adjust day, date, month, or year. Use the correct tool, or a ballpoint pen tip, to press the pusher fully and release it fully each time.

Do not press halfway or release halfway, as partial engagement can misalign gears and damage the mechanism.

How do I use the Daytona or Valjoux 7750 chronograph safely?

For Daytona models with screw-in chronograph pushers, unscrew the pusher guards before use. Use the top pusher to start and stop the chronograph, and the reset pusher only after the chronograph has fully stopped.

For Valjoux 7750 movements, never quick-set the date between 10:00 PM and 3:00 AM. If you need to change the date late at night, first move the time to around 6:00, then adjust the date, and finally reset the time.

What is a chronograph, and what is a tachymeter?

A chronograph adds stopwatch-style timing functions to a watch. A tachymeter is a scale, usually on the bezel or dial, that uses elapsed time to estimate average speed over a measured distance.

Orders, payment, shipping, and support

Operational questions that come up before and after checkout.

How long does order processing take?

Payment verification usually takes about 48 hours. After confirmation, we send QC photos and test information. If you do not reply to the QC email within 24 hours, we treat that as approval and dispatch the order.

Can I cancel, change, or place a custom order for parts?

If you have not paid, simply do not complete the payment. If you have already paid, contact billing to discuss a refund or store credit where applicable.

If you need extra parts, straps, or a non-standard item, contact pre-sales first so we can confirm availability and pricing before you place a custom order.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, Bitcoin, and selected transfer methods. Bitcoin payments receive a 5% discount. Credit cards are usually charged once the order passes processing review, often within 24 hours.

How long does shipping take, and what if customs stops the parcel?

Typical shipping time is 7 to 10 business days after dispatch, not including processing time. Depending on destination, we may use EMS, DHL, or Airmail. Some UK forwarding routes can take around three weeks.

If customs confiscates a package, contact us and we can arrange a refund or reshipment according to the support policy.

What if my watch arrives damaged, or I need warranty support?

Please contact us within 72 hours of delivery if the watch arrives with a fault. We offer a limited 6-month warranty for qualifying issues, but water damage, self-repairs, and third-party modifications are not covered.
